Is this the same as using Ctrl+B?

No. Ctrl+B normally applies formatting to existing letters in a rich text editor. This page creates different characters. They can look similar, but copying, searching, counting and reading them aloud may behave differently.

Can I make only part of a sentence bold?

Why does my bold text look different after pasting?

Your destination app uses its own fonts and fallback characters. The letter remains the same Unicode character, but its width, spacing and stroke can change. An empty box means the current font cannot display it.

How to use it

Enter the heading or phrase you want to emphasize; a few words make styles easier to compare.
Start with Bold sans or Bold serif, then try italic or decorative versions if the tone calls for them.
Copy one result and paste it into your destination app, leaving the surrounding explanation in ordinary text.
Check the saved result on a phone, especially if your phrase includes accents, links or numbers.

Choose the weight that fits the job

Bold sans has simple shapes and a fairly even stroke, which makes it a practical starting point for a short announcement. Bold serif adds the small finishing strokes you see in book type. Compare the whole word, rather than a single letter: a name with several narrow letters can look quite different from one full of round letters.

Bold italic adds a slant as well as weight. Script and gothic take the shape much further, while framed versions add symbols around your words. Use those when the decoration itself is part of the message. A schedule, price or instruction usually benefits from the simpler choices.

Why the bold survives a paste

The generator replaces supported Latin letters with separate Unicode characters that already have a bold appearance. It does not attach a font or a document style to the clipboard. That is why a result can remain visually bold after it reaches a plain text field, although the receiving device still chooses how to draw each character.

This also explains why pressing a bold button in a word processor is different. Real formatting preserves the original letters underneath. If the app offers its own bold control, that is usually the better choice for ordinary writing, search and assistive technology.

Keep links and essential details readable

Copy only the words you want to emphasize. Changing the letters inside an email address, username, hashtag or web address can stop it behaving as a link or identifier. Put the bold label beside the real address instead: the label can attract attention while the address remains usable.

For a long announcement, one bold heading is easier to scan than an entire bold paragraph. Keep dates, eligibility conditions and contact details in plain text as well. A reader should still understand the message if their software cannot pronounce the decorative heading naturally.

Letters that do not change

These alphabets are not a complete replacement for every writing system. Accented letters, punctuation and unsupported scripts can stay unchanged, producing a mixed result. Inspect personal names carefully rather than removing an accent just to make the weight match. For consistent typography across a whole language, use a real font in an editor that supports it.
