Which preset is right for a company logo?

Neither cover preset is a square logo slot. These create wide cover images. Export a separate square logo in your design tool and use the cover for supporting artwork.

Why is the Company Page preset so wide?

LinkedIn’s current Page documentation recommends a 1512 × 256 cover, which has an approximately 5.9:1 shape. A personal profile background is 4:1, so select Company Page when preparing artwork for your organization’s Page.

Can I prepare a banner from a transparent PNG?

Yes. The JPEG export flattens transparent areas onto a background. Choose an appropriate solid padding color if you need the resulting appearance to match your brand artwork.

Will resizing move my text independently?

Text already contained in the image moves with the rest of the picture. To reposition a headline relative to a photograph, edit the original layered design before bringing it into the resizer.

Profile and Company Page covers are different

LinkedIn recommends 1584 × 396 pixels for a personal background image. Its current Page specification uses 1512 × 256 for the Company Page cover. The personal cover must be below 8 MB, while Page images have a 3 MB maximum. Choose the matching preset first so the crop and byte check reflect the destination you are editing.

Keep a professional message easy to read

Use the banner to support the information already in the profile. A single subject or short line of wording is easier to recognize than a miniature presentation slide. Keep dates, contact information and detailed services in the written profile fields, where they remain selectable and readable. The banner can establish a visual theme without carrying the entire explanation of your work.

Allow space for the profile interface

The profile image and other interface elements can overlap or sit close to the banner, and their positions vary with the layout. Keep critical text away from the edges and give it a generous margin. This tool does not draw a universal avatar overlap box, because a single rectangle would imply more precision than the different LinkedIn views can support.

Adapt the original instead of distorting it

A personal cover has a 4:1 shape, while the Company Page preset is approximately 5.9:1. An image composed for one can lose important content when moved to the other. Fill crops proportionally; Fit keeps the full image with padding. If neither looks balanced, rearrange the source design for the destination rather than stretching a face or logo horizontally.

Inspect compression around lettering

Company artwork may contain sharp text and logos over a large flat background. After downloading, inspect the JPEG at full size for rough edges or halos. If the file needed heavy compression, simplify the background or prepare a cleaner source. The tool reports the final byte size so you can distinguish a size-limit issue from a problem with the composition itself.

Check the cover after saving it

Upload the file through your profile or Page editing controls, then review the saved result on more than one screen size. A crop that looked fine in the editor may feel crowded when the profile image and page header appear around it. Keep the original design available so you can adjust spacing without working from a downloaded copy of LinkedIn’s processed image.
