Your bio is half of your profile. The other half is the page your link opens — make yours with Stick, free.
How to use it
- Use the menu to jump to your kind of account, or scroll for a style you like.
- Copy a bio and change what makes it yours — the topic, the schedule, the shop.
- In the TikTok app, tap Profile, then Edit profile, then Bio. Paste your version and save.
- To point the bio at a link, tap Add next to Links on the same screen. TikTok offers it from 1,000 followers, or sooner with a verified business account.
Eighty characters is about one sentence
TikTok’s help center caps a bio at 80 characters — a little over half of Instagram’s 150. That is room for one clear sentence or two short lines, so each bio here does one job: it says what the account posts, or why to follow, rarely both.
Most people open your profile right after a video, so the bio only has to confirm what they just watched and promise more of it. “Apartment makeovers on a renter’s budget” tells someone who liked one makeover that the next video will be another.
Name the topic in plain words
Write the subject the way a viewer would say it: sourdough, Minecraft builds, Spanish lessons, curly hair. A stranger skimming your profile reads those faster than a row of emoji, while letters from a font generator turn the one word that matters into symbols a screen reader spells out one by one.
Your name field is the other half
Above the bio sits your name, which holds up to 30 characters and can be changed only once every seven days. That suits what stays the same — who you are and your topic, like “Maya | Sourdough” — and leaves the bio free to change with what you are posting now.
When your bio can point at a link
You can add a website link to your profile once you have at least 1,000 followers or a verified business account. Until then, a line such as “new video every Thursday” gives people a reason to follow instead of a place to tap.
Once the link is there, end the bio by pointing at it — the shop, the booking page, the playlist. If you have several places to send people, link a page that lists them all, and let the bio say what is behind it.
Symbols, emoji and the 80
Symbols such as ✧, ☾ and ✿ make a bio look styled while counting as one character each. Emoji can cost more: a flag or an emoji with a skin tone is built from two or more characters, and a few of those take a real bite out of 80. The number beside each bio here counts every character, so you can see what is left.
Update it with your videos
A TikTok profile changes faster than most: a series ends, a product launches, a stream moves to a new night. Treat the bio as the caption for your whole profile and rewrite it when what you post changes, so people who arrive from your newest video find what they came for.
