Unicode version for names and other apps
Unicode adds combining marks to the letters. Appearance, search and screen-reader support vary; Discord messages usually work better with Markdown.

How to use it
- Type or paste the original words in the text box, without surrounding Markdown markers.
- Check the preview to make sure the intended phrases are crossed out.
- Copy Discord strikethrough for a message, or the Unicode version for a field without Markdown.
- Paste the result into the destination and verify that the line is readable on the device you use.
The Discord message pattern
A Discord strikethrough uses two tildes before the text and two after it: ~~old wording~~. The generator creates that source for you. Copy the complete result into an ordinary message; backticks around it would instead show the tildes literally. Keep replacement wording outside the tildes so readers can immediately distinguish the old instruction from the new one.
Use a correction that still makes sense
Crossed-out text can preserve the history of a small correction, such as an old time followed by the updated time. Put the current information nearby in plain text and say what changed when the difference matters. A reader should not have to infer the new instruction from a line through the old one. For a substantial correction, rewrite the announcement clearly.
Handle several lines independently
This tool wraps each nonempty line separately and leaves blank lines alone. Leading and trailing spaces stay outside the markers. That makes a multiline draft easier to inspect and avoids relying on a single pair of markers stretching across a paragraph break. If you need only one phrase crossed out inside a longer sentence, prepare that phrase here and insert the result into your draft.
Choose Unicode only for the right field
The alternate result adds combining strike marks to the characters themselves. It can be useful where Markdown is not interpreted, but rendering depends on the font and app. The line may look uneven across emoji, punctuation or scripts with complex letter shapes. In an ordinary Discord message, Markdown usually gives the cleaner result because Discord draws the strike as part of the text style.
Keep crossed-out text accessible
A visual line does not guarantee that assistive technology will announce the words as obsolete. Add a clear phrase such as Updated time or Replaced by beside information people must act on. Unicode decoration can also change search and copying behavior because the extra marks are part of the stored characters. Keep essential names, links and instructions available in plain wording.
Review the full message before sending
The output adds formatting overhead: four tildes for each wrapped line in the Markdown version, and combining marks throughout the Unicode version. If you insert several results into a longer announcement, check the entire message with the Discord character counter. After pasting, confirm that no extra backslash or code fence prevents formatting and that the new information is easy to find.
