Gothic font generator

How to use it

1. Enter the exact name or phrase, including the capitals you want to keep.

4. Leave a plain spelling nearby when readers need to search, pronounce or type the name.

Regular gothic or bold gothic

Regular gothic has thinner strokes and more open space inside some letters. Bold gothic fills those shapes more heavily, which can help a short word remain visible but can make a long phrase dense. Compare the actual word you intend to use, because the balance changes with its letters.

A crown, skull or ornamental frame adds characters around the word. Those additions can suit a gaming nickname, music project or themed signature. They also add width, so start with the unframed result and only keep the decoration if it improves the finished line.

Blackletter shapes in copyable text

The core results come from the Unicode Fraktur alphabets. These characters were encoded for mathematical distinctions, and the generator reuses their shapes for decoration. It does not contain a complete historical blackletter typeface or apply a font setting to ordinary text.

Some regular gothic capitals are older letterlike symbols, while other letters come from the mathematical alphabet block. Your device may draw the two groups with slightly different fallback fonts. That can explain why a particular capital appears narrower or heavier than the letters around it.

Use a real font for a finished design

For a logo, poster or album cover, a proper blackletter font gives you control over spacing, punctuation, accents and the relationship between letters. This tool is most useful when the result needs to remain selectable text in a field that cannot carry a font file.

Do not remove meaningful accents from a person’s name merely to get a uniform style. Unsupported letters stay unchanged here. If the mixture is distracting, choose a simpler text treatment or use an image made with a typeface that supports the entire spelling.

Read the word before judging the decoration

Gothic letters can be unfamiliar, especially in all capitals. Ask whether someone seeing the name for the first time could recognize it without context. A short mixed-case word often leaves more clues than a long capitalized phrase surrounded by symbols.

Keep URLs, email addresses, handles and hashtags plain. The gothic-looking letter is a different character, so styling these strings can change their meaning to the destination app. Use a decorated title above an ordinary link rather than converting the link itself.

Make the identity available in plain words

A screen reader may pronounce these characters as mathematical symbols or spell them individually. Search and text matching may also handle them differently. Put a normal spelling somewhere useful, especially for a public profile, and keep important descriptions or instructions outside the decorative alphabet.
