Can I use a youtu.be short link?

Yes. YouTube’s video-sharing domain is recognized, and the output keeps the video ID. It can also retain a supported start-time value. The generator rejects unrelated short-link services because they hide the destination it would need to encode.

Will the code play a video without internet?

The image holds a link, not the video file. Opening and streaming the YouTube destination normally needs network access. Test connectivity at the place where people will scan, especially for exhibitions or indoor event spaces.

Can I replace the video after printing?

You cannot remotely change the URL encoded in this static image. If the original destination is no longer suitable, make a new code and update the printed artwork. A channel or maintained playlist may suit material intended to cover changing content.

Does downloading a larger PNG change the destination?

No. The PNG choices draw the same pattern with different numbers of pixels per module. SVG also contains the same data. Choose size for the layout and printer, then keep the square shape and clear border intact.

How to use it

Use YouTube’s Share control to copy the video or playlist address. For a channel, copy its channel URL or enter the @handle directly.
Paste the address and inspect the cleaned destination. A supported video start time and playlist parameter are preserved; unrelated share-tracking parameters are left out.
For a channel, choose whether to request a subscription prompt. This option applies to channels because a video or playlist is a different kind of destination.
Select readable colors and a download size. Save PNG for most design editors or SVG for artwork that will be scaled for printing.
Scan the final layout and play the content on another device. Check the start point, visibility and network access before distributing the printed material.

Choose the right place to start watching

A product insert often needs a specific setup video, while a conference poster may need a channel with several demonstrations. A playlist gives the viewer an ordered collection, and a Short may suit a brief visual explanation. Choose the destination around the task the scanner is trying to complete. The QR should save a search and land close to the useful information.

When a demonstration has a long introduction, a video link with a start time can take the viewer closer to the relevant section. The parser accepts common t and start values, such as a number of seconds or 1m30s, and keeps valid values in the generated video address. Play the result after scanning: an address can be well formed while still pointing at the wrong moment for your instructions.

Make the offline instruction complete enough

Print a short explanation beside the image, such as “Watch the assembly walkthrough”, and include a readable fallback address when the layout allows it. A customer should know what kind of video will open and why it helps. If a step is necessary to use the product safely or correctly, include the essential instruction in the printed material rather than relying on every customer having a working connection.

Keep the code away from folds, punch holes and areas likely to be covered by a hand or label. A table sign and a wall poster are viewed from different distances, so neither can be validated by looking only at a thumbnail on your laptop. Make a sample at the actual size, scan it from the intended distance and confirm that the viewer can reach the video without access to your own account.

Check availability as well as scan quality

A QR image can scan perfectly even when the video behind it is private, removed or restricted for a particular viewer. Open the destination in a separate session and consider who will receive the printed piece. If several people maintain the channel, keep a note that the video is linked from physical material before anyone deletes, replaces or changes access to it.

The code stores a YouTube address rather than hosting the video. It does not make an offline copy, remove YouTube’s interface or guarantee playback in a particular app. A device may open the URL in a browser or hand it to an installed app. The optional channel subscription request also depends on that environment. Judge success by whether your audience reaches the intended content, and test that route before the print run.
